Zia B Day

Hold on to your babies! 5 years went by in a flash.

In other news, Lincoln has been standing well for a few weeks now. He seems set to take his first steps sometime right around his 9 month birthday next month.  He and Z both have check ups on Halloween, so we'll have updated numbers next week.

He also has become very adept at catching these:

This is a boxelder bug, a useless kind of beetle of which there are millions out here this time of year.  I sucked up so many of these with my new Kone that my hand hurts.  Apparently due to the poor ergonomic design.  Maybe I should just let the little one eat them.

Head Shots

The photographer put Zia's picture up on the wall.  This is obviously not as big an "honor" as getting chosen in the big city, but it is more likely for someone to recognize her there...

Updates

Tinkerbell is taking well to the country life.  My brother's dog loves to fetch for her, and nothing makes Lincoln laugh harder than to watch them do it.  Animals are his very favorite thing.

Linc is pulling up like mad, on everything - even walls and doors, which means many bumps and lots of crying...  (See Zia spotting him in the background :)

Like all babies, he gets into his food.

One of the many views from our yard.

We're Definitely in Wyoming

What did the kids bring for show and tell today Zia?

" One boy brought a real gun, but it was made out of plastic."

End of Summer

It's 45 degrees and raining here.  Zia spent the last glorious days of summer with her Grammy and Papa, having an absolute blast as you can see.  I think they're still recovering!

Linc, meanwhile, has started to crawl (kind of) and sit himself back up quite well.  He's also getting better at maneuvering very small things into his mouth!

Lincoln Cross Dresses

Tradition states that all children wear a baptismal gown, but I just couldn't take Linc out in public in this, Zia's gown.  He's just too girly!  Instead he got baptized in a cute little sweater vest set, size 18 months, that he'll probably only wear once.  When I got it as a gift after he was born, I thought it would be perfect for next Easter.  Ha.  He weighed in at 23# 14oz at his 6 month check yesterday - another 99th percentile and the size of an average 15 month boy.  He's dropping off on height though, only 28 inches, 89th percentile.  Little  guy.
